Hi Everyone -

Our time bank is working with a local charter school that is dedicated to community service. One of their ideas is to have the school earn time dollars when students respond to a requested service like leaf-raking and other yard cleanup or helping someone move, etc. In other ways, the school's membership would be like any organization joining a time bank.

When I made a presentation the other evening, one of their committee members asked whether there are time banks that already have schools as members. I said I would post that question to the trusty TimeBanks Forums and see what I get back in response!

Thanks for any experience you can share.

Hi, Nancy!

In fact, the Andover Community Time Bank in Andover, MA was originated in a highschool! That's the first one that pops into my head. I think it's a great idea, and a natural fit. You can find contact info for the Andover Time Bank on our website directory (I don't want to just post their email address here, to protect them from spam).

Thanks, Jen. I'll get in touch and see how they're working. I appreciate the lead.
