I’m curious about hosting a speaker at local TimeBank events. Preferably someone that would talk on the topic of Time Banking and more broadly alternative economics.

Where does one start? Do you have any suggestions, or ideas to offer in this regard?

Would you care to help compile a short list of likely individuals?

Is there an established speakers bureau on the topic of Alternative Currencies?

Cordially,
Tony Budak[/i]

Here is a promising source of speakers...

------------------------------------------
Aid & Abet is a booking agency that works to bring awesome, radical
speakers to your school or community group! This year we are working
with authors and filmmakers like Derrick Jensen, Raj Patel, and Andi
Zeisler. We focus on social justice issues like the environment,
feminism, prisons and police, the anti-war movement, globalization,
independent media, and food politics. You can see our entire roster
here:
http://www.aidandabet.org/roster

We have a new mailing list! Once a month, we send out an announcement
of upcoming tours and events! You should join it! That way you can
find out about all the awesome speakers that you want to host at your
school/work/community group/lecture series/bookstore/whatever! You can
join here:
http://groups. google. com/group/aidandabet?hl= en

And of course, feel free to email me directly at jen@aidandabet.org if
you have any questions!

Here's another....

The YES! Speakers Bureau can help your community or organization connect with a diverse set of social change leaders working for a more just, sustainable and compassionate world. The individuals we've listed in our Speakers Bureau can inform and inspire your group around many of the issues featured in YES! magazine.

Cheers,
Tony

You should look into getting Paul Glover. He created Ithica HOurs and lives and works in Philadelphia. If you are close, he might be affordable. He does not have a car, though, and so you would need to pick him up from train or plane.

His information is below. Good luck....
