To all who are currently using the TimeBanks USA forums
We are collectively new to this form of communication, so, for now, only a few people are using the forums, and there can be long spaces of time after someone posts a message before they receive a reply.

Partly, that's because we've lost our Forum Tickler and are looking for another!

The Forum Tickler's is to make sure that the forum finds its legs and gets up and running. But, circumstances were such that the person doing this had to step back from the role 'Crying or Very sad'and we're seeking out a replacement. We hope to have a new person very soon who will make sure that posts are answered and that people are helped to get familiar with the forums.

For now, we encourage you to jump in -- and be patient about getting replies. It'll take a while for us all to learn this new tool.

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself. My name is Kristin Blake and I will be serving as the new forum tickler. I have served for the past year as an Americorps VISTA at the Tompkins County Youth Advocate Program. I will be helping to answer questions you might have, point you in the direction of someone who can answer your questions (because I certainly don't have all the answers!), and posing questions that I have as well. The best resources to build your Time Bank are other people who are doing the exact same thing! I look forward to chatting with all of you soon!

Kristin

We have submitted four times for an Americorp VISTA volunteer to help launch our Community Connections time banking program. We've been told that "Time Banking" is too labor intensive to use a VISTA! Any suggestions?

Leslie-

Personally, having served for a year as a VISTA, I would not agree with the answer you have been getting. I suggest you contact Lesley Jones, Program Director of Portland Time Bank and The Maine Time Banks Training Center. She was very helpful in helping my sponsering agency secure two VISTAs thus far. She is a great resource and may be able to help you.

Hope you have better luck!
