| Would someone explain the purpose of the bottom box in the "Recorded Hours" of Community Weaver, the field with the word Mileage to the left?
How do TimeBank's software or members use the data when members add their number of miles traveled? Cheers, Tony |

| Hi, Tony!
I believe that some Time Banks compensate members for mileage if they are giving rides to people, but I don't know how may Time Banks are doing that. I could imagine there would be some foundations that would be interested in knowing how many miles are carpooled in a Time Bank. It could also be a factor in quanitifying the economic impact of a Time Bank, I would think. Anyone else? How do you use that figure? Jen |

| We haven't used this feature yet, but I saw a report a long time ago from another TB (sorry, don't remember which one), listing program accomplishments such as x # of hours exchanged AND members commuted x # of miles before, during, and after such exchanges. It was a really high number, so it looked impressive. I would assume that the members were not "compensated" for those miles, but it really adds up even if you are going to someone's house to clean or tutor. | ||

| Mileage is the result of a request from an older Time Bank when Community Weaver was in its infancy. If I remember correctly, this Time Bank would give out a report for miles driven to its members and they could use it on their income tax returns as mileage not reimbursed. It hasn't been asked for in any of the reports - not even the passbook - so if there is any Time Bank that uses this feature, I would assume that they are happy with the figures they get in the CSV download. | ||
