Again, welcome to the TimeBanks USA Forums! We encourage you to explore all the features the Forum has to offer. Please know that there is no button that you can press that will cause any harm. The worst that can happen is that you might be told that you aren't authorized to enter a certain area, but otherwise, the Forum is a safe place, and you should feel free to look in every nook and cranny. If you run into any problems as you begin to use the forum, please go to the FAQ (frequently asked questions) to see if you can work through it. There are some people behind the Forum that it will be helpful for you to know about:
Your ProfileWe encourage you to take some time to develop your profile. A complete profile will allow other forum users to know you and you to know them. In your profile, you can post a picture of yourself or image that you want to use to represent you. It will have to be a digital picture, and it will have to be no greater than 110 pixels, the height no greater than 110 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB. Basic Use of the ForumsOn the front page of the Forums you will see several Categories (in cranberry). A Category is a group of forums. Click on any of the Categories, and it will open like an accordion to show you the forums within that Category. Click it again and the Forums will disappear. The most basic use of the Forum is to post your questions and to answer the questions that others have posted. It is absolutely fine if you never do anything more than that. But just as our brains have tremendously more capacity than we call on them to use, the Forum has many other abilities than the basic posting and answering questions. If that tweaks your curiosity, read on. You can click Add New Topic and you will be able to add a new thread or topic to that forum. Then before your new topic gets posted on the website, you can Preview and, if you like, Edit it. As you set up the Forum site to meet your interests and preferred ways of participating, you might click View New Posts, and you will be shown all messages that have been posted since your last visit. Beyond the BasicsOnce you get used to the basics, you may want to learn more about other features, and we direct you to the FAQ (frequently asked questions) icon to explore these features like how to set a watch on a forum. Dive inNow just dive in, explore the TimeBanks USA Forums, learn how to get your time bank started or improve the one you're part of. Most of all, enjoy! You are joining a community of folks who are passionate about developing time banking as a community - building complementary currency. We welcome your participation. Sincerely, |
